The
hospitality shown by our hosts was
overwhelming. Our schedule was prepared
meticulously and every moment of the
trip had been utilized meaningfully.
Whenever we had a hiatus between official
engagements, we were whisked away
to have fun or tour of a historic
site. Because our hosts’ enthusiasm
for sharing English & Wales’s
wonderful culture and history was
so touching, we always overruled our
weird bodies’ pleas for rest.
When rest came, it was in the wonderfully
warm, caringly comfortable, and wooingly
welcoming homes of each of my seven—yes,
seven—host families.

After we
arrived at Manchester airport,
we had pleasure of overnight
stay in one of the best resort
‘Thornton Hotel ‘
in Wirral.
My first host were Hugh &
Shirley Lloyd – both working.
Hugh is ex- mayor of Wirral.
I call him encyclopedia; he
has answer for all the questions.
A home with six cats!! More
pets than family members are
a big surprise for an Indian!!
One evening he told me lets
go to the office at 6 p.m.
I was reluctant but went with
him. When we reached office,
I realized that ‘the office'
is the name of Pub!!! British
humor at its best.

My fifth
host were Peter & Judith
Hughes- a very hard working
couple. They have a son named
Steward who is mentally challenged.
Peter always says ‘ we
don’t have problems, we
have challenges’, I have
learnt a big lesson in life.
We also enjoyed the cricket
match at Colwyn Bay Rotary Club.
